Nature VS art

The Cantiere 2/Harbour project sees the artist Roberto Coda Zabetta working on the construction of a large public project in the port of Portivy in Brittany. At the heart of this intervention is a delicate connection between painting, architecture, the natural environment and the landscape.
For millennia the strength of the winds, tides, erosion by the sea, the sun, the rain and the salty air have sculpted the coast of the Quiberon peninsula, known popularly as the
Côte Sauvage; it is precisely these primordial elements that have inspired the artist.
Pictorial material has always been at the centre of the artist’s work who has experimented with the use of natural substances for over two years. The work primarily takes place thanks to the use of pigments such as oyster powder, fish glue and Airlite paint with zero impact pigments. The sea and time will dissolve this great ephemeral work, animated by natural energy and created with complete respect for the environment that is hosting it.

As with Cantiere 1/Terrazzo, development of the work will be documented by the photographer and filmmaker Henrik Blomqvist and production of the film in collaboration with Black Mamba while the graphic design is by Matteo Blandford. The film includes contributions by Patrizia Torricelli (DAIS – Department of Environmental Sciences Ca ‘Foscari University, Venice), Martina Sabbadini (Curator and independent researcher, manager of communication and the Kadist collection), Massimo Torrigiani (Boiler Studio and Fantom Editions), Hervé Bourdon (Founder, owner and chef at the Petit Hotel du Grand Large, Portivy) and Tiziano Vudafieri (Vudafieri Saverino Partners).
Cantiere 1 / Terrazzo in Naples saw the creation of a large painting on the entire surface of the roof of the complex of the SS. Trinità delle Monache, then the former Naples Military Hospital.
